SELC in South Carolina
From the unique Carolina Bays to the longleaf pine forests of the Francis Marion National Forest, South Carolina is known for its biologically diverse coastal and wetland resources. But demand for coastal property in South Carolina is fierce, and a proliferation of second homes has brought sprawl and all its attendant problems to this unique landscape. At the same time, pending decisions by the Supreme Court could open 300,000 acres of wetlands in the state to destruction.
SELC has a history of success in protecting South Carolina's environment. Our South Carolina conservation team includes ten attorneys focusing all or part of their time on the conservation needs of this state. We serve South Carolina from our Charleston, SC office and our Carolinas office in Chapel Hill, NC.
