Expansion of the Port of Charleston (SC)

Map of I-26 widening project

Despite internal claims to the contrary, the agencies publicly claim that this future project to widen the interstate segments most impacted by port traffic is unrelated to the port expansion. More importantly, data shows that the resulting traffic will cause I-26 to reach "failing levels of service" east of the interchange of I-526. The widening project will cost an additional $300 million of taxpayer money.
